1947 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS

The Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 was first introduced in 1938 in an effort to help offset the declining sales of the 8C 2900. Based on an earlier six-cylinder 2300 engine designed by Vittorio Jano and enlarged to 2.5 litres.

Following the end of WWII the 6C 2500 returned to production in 1947 until Alfa could introduce new all new models. Post-war C6 2500′s were bodied by Alfa Romeo, with special additions being built by Carrozzeria Zagato, Pinin Farina, Touring, Bertone, and others. The top model was the Super Sport which was built on a shortened chassis for superior handling and with the addition of triple carburetors for increased horsepower.

yesterday i finally hung six of my prints at deb’s hair salon, just down the street from our house in nelsonville, new york. i was there getting my haircut last year when i mentioned to deb that i’d quit my job to pursue photography. "oh!" she exclaimed. "you should hang some of your photos here!" she didn’t ask for anything in return, so i offered to shoot her husband’s classic cars, come spring.
